The idea of creating a Surf Club at MacMasters Beach originated at a Local Progress Association meeting in 1945. Harry Lee formed the Club and carried out patrols, initially assisted only by his family. In the 1947/1948 season ten Club members witnessed the construction of our original fibro Clubhouse. With membership steadily growing, a new brick Clubhouse was opened in 1975 providing improved facilities for both the Club members and the local community. The Club now boasts training rooms, office, gym, equipment storage areas, kiosk, hall/function facilities, lounge and bar areas.
Historically a small organisation, MacMasters Beach SLSC membership has increased steadily over the last decade. The amalgamation of the Junior and Senior divisions in 1993 created a unified Club which provides activities and opportunities for all age groups from Under 6s to Masters.
We are devoted to the safeguarding of life at MacMasters Beach and welcome you to join our club and assist us in providing a valuable community service.
