MacMasters Beach Ladies Social Club began in 1941 when a group of young mothers decided to get together to support each other during the war years. Over the years, it has become an integral part of our community, promoting friendship and fellowship.
Our meeting is held on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30 pm at MacMasters Beach Surf Club where we enjoy a chat and share our interests over a cup of tea after listening to a guest speaker. Our speakers cover a wide range of topics; we also have a number of social outings throughout the year.
For a the last three years we have participated in the ‘Wrap with Love’ project and each year, on Melbourne Cup Day the Club hosts a very popular luncheon at the Surf Club.
We support local organisations such as the Surf Club, Bush Fire Brigade and Bushcare. Visitors and new members are most welcome.
Contact our President Hanne Bloom (phone 4381 0740) or Vice President Ros Raison (phone 4381 0676) for further information.
Our local Bushcare Group performs an important function in looking after the natural environment of MacMasters Beach. To do this, they need two kinds of support
1) Feet on the ground (or bums in the dirt!!). We need people to help out with weed removal. No experience needed and if you can work in your garden you can do bush regeneration. We’ll show you what’s a weed and how to kill it. We never spray with herbicides. It can be hot, cold, scratchy, itchy and sometimes stingy work, but it is immensely satisfying.
2) Donations. Funds are used to supplement grants from various levels of Government to employ bush regeneration contractors to do some of the heavy lifting.
Contact President Tony Powell on 0418 223 114 for information.
Community Group removing litter and rubbish from the foreshores and mangroves on the Central Coast of NSW. Looking after our backyard is one of the best ways to start in repairing the environment. This group has teams of volunteers that take on regular projects to clean up the Hawkesbury and Central Coast – everything from collecting rubbish on the foreshore to garbage removal from remote locations on the Hawkesbury to dismantling old wrecks of boats from our waterways.

MOB – Mac’s Own Boardriders was established in 2005 by a core group of local surfers from MacMasters Beach. They saw an opportunity to form a social, fun club which allowed a way to get all the local surfers together through club surfing competitions and social events. The MOB also provides the opportunity for the more competitive surfers from the area to compete in team events for ‘The MOB’ at a local, state and national level.
