MacMasters Beach SLSC in line with Surf Life Saving Central Coast and Surf Life Saving New South Wales is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our members.

Surf Life Saving offers many opportunities to its members and their families. Our Junior Activities program or ‘Nippers’ is a great opportunity for families to become involved in surf lifesaving.
More importantly however, Nippers teaches children how they can keep themselves and their friends safe at the beach while having a heap of fun along the way.
The MacMasters Beach nipper program focuses on junior activities that teach children lifesaving and surf safety in a safe and fun environment.
They learn about:
– Surf safety and awareness including how to identify rips
– Surf sports skills, such as how to catch a wave when swimming
– Personal development and leadership skills, including teamwork and improving self confidence
Every parent wants their child to lead a happy, healthy and active life. There is no better place for this than introducing
your child to surf lifesaving and nippers.
Nippers is a junior program that introduces children aged 5 to 13 to surf lifesaving. It is a fun outdoors activity that grows a child’s confidence, teaches valuable life skills and knowledge.
All children must have their attendance recorded by their age manager as they arrive and when they leave.
For our junior activities to be successful there has to be full involvement by parents in all aspects of the program. Some of the tasks we need help with include water safety personnel, beach set up and pack away, assisting coaches and age managers, working the Sunday barbeques and any other carnival activities.
Competitions are open to anyone who qualifies from the Under 8s and above. Carnivals are held regularly but are not compulsory.
On the days that many of our nippers are competing at carnivals, we are going to join with Copacabana Surf Club and run some fun activities together. This will involve 2 mornings hosted by MacMasters Beach Surf Club and 2 mornings hosted by Copacabana Surf Club. More details will be given closer to the days.
Nippers are for Under 6 to Under 12. Our Under 13 and Under 14 groups become our Rookies
